As we at The Counseling Center adjust to a world that is rapidly changing in response to the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic, our concern for the health and well-being of our community remains paramount. In a spirit of solidarity as we face this crisis together, we have decided to postpone our gala benefit, originally scheduled for Friday, May 1st.
We sincerely hope you can join us on the rescheduled date of Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Bronxville Field Club, 6-8 p.m.
The Counseling Center remains thrilled to honor Doug Cruikshank at its annual benefit. Doug’s three generations-deep connection to Bronxville, his commitment to community service within the wider Bronxville area, and his enduring friendships forged on the tennis, squash, and paddle courts all suggest that he will bring passion and a sense of fun to the event.
Our thanks go to the five families who remain committed to sponsoring this year’s benefit. Because of their contribution, all of the proceeds from the gala will go to supporting the non-profit Counseling Center’s efforts to offer vital therapeutic services to the community.
More than ever during this uncertain time, The Counseling Center depends on, and is enormously grateful for, caring friends who make its ongoing work possible. In its nearly fifty years in Bronxville, The Counseling Center has faced many challenges, perhaps none as great as the current moment, but as we adapt to our new circumstances, we are confident of our ability to carry on. We are especially sensitive to the needs of people who depend on the Center’s Fee Subsidy Program, which allows the professional staff to offer critical services to those who are unable to afford full-fee treatment. Only with your support can we continue to provide them, and all our clients, with the solace and assistance needed to face difficult life issues and often overwhelming stress.
Although The Counseling Center’s physical offices are temporarily closed during this public health crisis, the staff is continuing to see clients through remote platforms. And we are answering our phones and replying to emails on a daily basis.
