Telehealth Therapy

Virtual options allow our therapists to “meet the client where they are.”
The Counseling Center offers telehealth therapy to individuals, couples, families and groups located in New York and Connecticut. The Center’s mission has always been to provide high-quality therapy accessible to all, and telehealth is one effective way to do so. For clients who cannot get to our office, whether due to illness, disability, proximity to the center, transportation limits, or schedule constraints, meeting via telehealth is an excellent option.

In addition to convenience, telehealth therapy can promote greater consistency of treatment, as there are fewer obstacles to scheduling and fewer reasons to cancel. For some clients, sharing a glimpse of their home environment with their therapist or remaining in a comfortable space accompanied by a beloved pet, may be beneficial. In relational therapy, it can be helpful for couples to observe themselves on screen – how they sound, what their body language gives off, and how they respond to their partner. In family or group therapy, members can meet virtually from different locations.

All of our therapists are experienced in using telehealth to create meaningful and effective therapeutic relationships with their clients. You can discuss options for telehealth, in-person therapy, or a hybrid of both with our Clinical Director or your therapist.

Answers to your inquiries
What is the College Therapy Experience?

The College Therapy Experience is a counseling service tailored specifically to meet the mental health needs of college students. We provide support for challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and more, helping students navigate the ups and downs of college life.

What kinds of issues do you help college students with?

We help students deal with a variety of issues, including stress from academics, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, gender identity concerns, and LGBTQ+ matters. Whatever you’re facing, we’re here to support you.

Is financial assistance available for therapy?

Yes, we offer fee subsidies and sliding scale options to make therapy more affordable for students who need it. We believe that cost shouldn’t be a barrier to getting the help you deserve.

How can I schedule an appointment for therapy?

You can easily request an appointment by visiting our website, calling (914) 793-3388, or emailing us at [email protected]. We’ll work with your schedule to find the best time for you.

Do you offer in-person therapy sessions?

Yes, for those who prefer in-person therapy, we offer appointments at our counseling center in Bronxville. You can choose what works best for you—online or in-person sessions.

How do I know if I need therapy?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, or struggling with anything that affects your mental health, therapy can be a great way to get support. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, and our team is here to guide you through it.

What should I expect during my first therapy session?

Your first session is a chance to talk openly about what’s going on in your life. You’ll meet with a licensed therapist who will listen and work with you to develop a plan for moving forward. It’s a safe space where you can talk about your feelings and challenges without judgment.
