We can help

Are you struggling to get through a hurdle in your life? Turn to The Counseling Center — an important resource for you no matter your age or the nature of your current struggles. We will listen carefully to your specific needs and provide insight on how we can help. Some turn to the Center with very serious mental health challenges, including major depression, anxiety/panic disorder, eating disorders, bi-polar illness, self-injury, addiction. We specialize in treating those serious difficulties, and many more — sometimes in short-term focused psychotherapy and often in longer term, more intensive therapy.

But many clients seek help with simply the normal hurdles of life. All of us face bumps in the road, and oftentimes it helps to speak to an objective, impartial person who is not a friend or family member. The Counseling Center specializes in helping deal with those challenges, too. Sometimes even just a few sessions will bring clarity and comfort. Many turn to us for how best to deal with such issues as:

  • Applying to college and leaving home
  • Homesickness during freshman year
  • Relationship struggles
  • Career decisions
  • The struggles of early married life
  • Infertility
  • Adjusting to having children
  • Surviving difficult developmental stages with one’s children
  • The pull of the multiple roles of working women
  • Infidelity
  • The stress of moving
  • Launching children to college
  • Facing the empty nest
  • Returning to work post mothering
  • Navigating Divorce
  • Caring for aging and dying parents
  • The challenges of aging
  • Facing serious illness

Whatever challenges you face, The Counseling Center offers a warm, safe, confidential place to navigate through them. If you are not sure whether seeking help could be beneficial or not, you can always call and speak with the Clinical Director, Dr. Jane Benjamin, about how we might be able to help.
